PUBLIC TALK - LOPPON TSERING SAMDUP - YOGA ON PARKER FRIDAY 16 JULY 2010
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Highly qualified teacher and scholar, Loppon Tsering Samdup, is making a return visit to the Rongton Buddhist Centre from 16th-18th July 2010, to give a public talk on the topic of "Altruism: Is it Possible?", followed by a two-day workshop on the first two chapters of Shantideva's classic text "Way of the Bodhisattva" (Bodhicharyavatara). These teachings are the essence of the Mahayana Path, and are suitable for anyone who wishes to find an infinite source of happiness and inner peace by developing true compassion for all living beings.
Loppon Tsering was the Resident Teacher of the Sakya Yigah Choeling Centre in Whyalla, South Australia for almost 10 years, before moving to Sydney in 2009 to take up the position of Resident Teacher at the Sakya Kechari Institute. He is a great Buddhist scholar and meditation master, completing all studies of monasticism, Sutra and Tantra at Sakya College in Dehra Dun, India. Loppon is gentle, softly-spoken, fluent in English, and has a wonderful sense of humour. We feel very fortunate to have this great teacher visit us twice in 2010!
